About a week ago I found this little trick to add some more FPS to your game. It seems that the Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator engine are both less good at antialiasing than ReShade (and SweetFX) is.
I tried disabling the built-in “Antialiasing MLAA”-setting and enabling it through ReShade and it gave me nearly the same effect AND an additional 10 fps (and in some places even 15 fps).
In order for this to work you need to disable the “Antialiasing MLAA”-setting in-game. Go to “Settings” > “Graphics” > untick the box before “Antialiasing MLAA”.
Now go to your ReShade or SweetFX preset and enable “SMAA”. The default settings do a pretty good job, but I will tweak this some more to get a better result.
Start ETS2 or ATS and enjoy some extra FPS. You can test this by parking your truck somewhere and switching between both configurations.
